A Hollywood blockbuster could be partly behind an expected surge in the number of people taking a holiday in Tenerife through 2011.
The Tenerife Tourism Corporation expects a significant surge in visitor numbers over the next 12 months, following a highly successful 2010.
Indeed, the Spanish island recorded arrivals of more than 1.3 million in the 11 months to November 30th, while figures for November alone show there was a rise of 8.3 per cent in the number of British travellers compared with the same month a year earlier.
And the organisation cites the release of Clash of the Titans as one of the factors behind the destination's success and predicted future expansion.
The hit movie included numerous shots of Tenerife's volcanic landscape, as Teide National Park was a key filming location.
Jet2.com recently reported one of the famous faces taking a break in Tenerife was Carlos Tevez, who used a gap in his club's fixture list to enjoy some time in the sun.
