There is a significant number of advantages to booking a villa in Tenerife and taking a little time to relax in the Spanish resort this winter.
That is the view of the Daily Telegraph, which includes the Canary Islands on its shortlist of the best places to visit while the weather is at its worst in the UK over the coming weeks.
Detailing what tourists can expect to find when they arrive in the region, located about 100 km from Africa's coast, the newspaper promises "endless" spring and summer weather, as well as "beautiful beaches, rustic food and volcanic landscapes".
"Away from the traditional British tourist traps like Tenerife's Playa de las Americas, there are plenty of unspoiled nooks and crannies to explore," it adds.
The Daily Mirror recently named Tenerife as a destination where visitors can be guaranteed sun and a particularly pleasant climate, even during the coldest months of the year.
