Annual holidays 'are a necessity'
Brits who are debating whether or not to splash out on holidays to Tenerife have been urged to go ahead with the getaway.
Andrew Dunn, founder of Scott Dunn, revealed in a podcast to BBC On The Money that trips abroad "are absolutely a necessity" for most families.
"There is that sense that you need to get away, you need to look forward to something and January is a time when people get a little bit down," he explained.
As a result, Mr Dunn acknowledged that it is "incredibly important" that Brits have a holiday to look forward to over the coming months.
People who opt to book up villas in Tenerife have plenty of dates to choose from which clash with the Canary Island's top attractions.
For instance, those who travel to the destination later this month can get involved in the Tenerife Carnival, which is themed around 60s Flower Power this year.
People who are holding off their getaway until later in 2012 may want to check out the Perseid Meteor Shower in Teide National Park on August 12th, which presents the opportunity to witness one of the universe's greatest natural wonders.
