Airport bosses at the Robin Hood travel hub in Doncaster believe holidays in Tenerife will prove to be particularly popular with its passengers this year.
Following Ryanair's decision to launch a service between the airport and the Spanish island, thousands of tourists are expected to pass through its gates, reports the Star.
The budget carrier already runs a route between Robin Hood and Alicante – providing access to Costa Blanca villas – and will also operate journeys to Faro in addition to the Tenerife option.
Nick Smillie, aviation sales director for Peel Airports, tells the newspaper he hopes the new Ryanair services will allow holiday makers to continue enjoying low-cost breaks from the airport.
People who plan a holiday in Tenerife from February 15th will be in a position to enjoy the island's annual carnival, which is one of the world's most iconic celebrations and often likened to the festivities in Rio de Janeiro.
