A budget airline has announced it is to offer a new service to people heading on holiday to Tenerife from their home in Scotland.
Jet2.com is to operate a route from Glasgow Airport to the Spanish island, located off the west coast of Africa.
The carrier has chosen the Scottish city as a new base, taking its total in the UK to nine, resulting in the creation of 150 jobs and several new destinations.
It means that, at a cost from £36.99 each way, Scottish holiday makers can travel to the Canary Islands and enjoy a stay in a villa in Tenerife.
Jet2.com is renowned for offering affordable flight prices to 20 million people each year and travelling to more than 50 spots around the world.
Recent figures from the Department of Turismo de Tenerife showed the number of visitors to the resort has been increasing in recent times, with a 3.77 per cent rise in July 2010 compared to the same month a year earlier.
