Why not snap up South of France villas to see water jousting?
Families looking to book a getaway to experience an overseas country's historical culture should think about staying in villas in the South of France.
That is because the region of Languedoc is set to indulge in the "cherished cultural tradition" of water jousting.
Described by the Coventry Telegraph as a mix of Camelot and Henley, the sport entails "lance-wielding 'knights' tilting at each other from the prows of open narrow boats, charging up and down a small stretch of the Canal du Midi".
The sporting extravaganza takes place for those visiting South of France villas from the late spring to early autumn.
However, the Vias festival on August 11th and then the Fete de St-Louis at Sete taking place on August 25th are two of the highlight events for holiday makers.
Once in holiday villas in the South of France, individuals should also look to take in the city of Beziers, after a Travelbite.co.uk writer recently said that the location is "full of rustic charm and picturesque sights".
