Why are people visiting holiday villas in Europe?

Some insight has been given into why people seek out a holiday in a European destination, such as to villas in the south of France.

Chris Brown, co-founder of sunshine.co.uk, has acknowledged that when it comes to travelling abroad, many people can enjoy a site so much that they return to it year after year.

"Europe … also offers more in the way of 'home comforts' than destinations further afield and there's a certain element of security that Brits feel when they can just pop to a shop and purchase items they could normally get back home," Mr Brown added.

He went on to say that trips to Europe, perhaps to south of France villas, also benefit Brits as they are available via short-haul flights.

People who opt for a getaway to the southern tip of France will be able to choose from a wealth of appealing destinations.

For example, families are sure to enjoy the sun and sights on offer in the Provence city of Marseille, while Cote D'Azur's resort of Nice presents a luxury landscape to explore.
