Villa in south of France could host several holidays a year

Taking regular short breaks in villas in the south of France may be more satisfying than gearing all time and funds towards a single, longer holiday.

Peter Crane, head of product strategy at Explore, says ditching two-week trips in favour of long weekends is a trend he has picked up on in recent times.

Such voyages are all about packing as much adventure, entertainment and sightseeing into a short time.

"Lots of people, in addition to their big trip, want to go on two or three shorter trips a year," states the travel expert.

Many travellers may find a villa in the south of France is perfect for their requirements, with the destination offering a regular supply of sun and culture, all less than two hours from the UK.

Dan Ariely, a behavioural economist Duke University in North Carolina, recently found taking shorter breaks several times a year makes people happier than using their allowance in one burst.
