Valras-Plage proving a popular resort for south of France holidays
When it comes to seeking out villas in the south of France, Brits may want to check out the facilities on offer at Valras-Plage.
The seaside resort in the French region of Languedoc-Roussillon has been named as Europe's second fastest-growing destination during 2011.
Ranked on year-on-year increases across the TripAdvisor websites, the south of France retreat was only beaten to first place by Ilford, located in East London.
Emma Shaw, spokesperson for TripAdvisor, commented: "These destinations may not all be the most obvious tourist hotspots, but for one reason or another they've sparked rapidly rising traveller attention this year."
While seeking out south of France villas in Languedoc-Roussillon, families may also want to check out the raft of cultural heritage sites dotted around the region.
The world's highest Roman aqueduct bridge can be found in this area of France, entitled the Pont du Gard, as can the historic walled city of Carcassonne.
