Grab yourself a late deal >Tignes offers all-year skiing to guests at south of France villas
People staying in villas in the south of France at any point in the year will find they are just a short drive from a day on the region's famous ski slopes.
A spokeswoman from the Tourist Office of Tignes Development says the resort of Tignes is at such a high altitude that snow can be guaranteed for 12 months of the year.
However, while taking to the pistes at the height of the holiday season in July or August may be an unusual and exciting opportunity, the coming months are likely to offer the best conditions for winter sports enthusiasts.
"The slopes are already open from September 25th until May 8th. Tignes has the Grande Motte glacier as well, where it is possible to ski all year long, in the summer too," the expert explains.
Skiing may be an attractive option for a day trip to those staying in villas in the glamorous coastal parts of the south of France.
Directski.com recently named Tignes as its top high-altitude destination for this winter.
