Take in Russian art on a Cote d'Azur holiday

Britons considering a Cote d'Azur holiday later this month might want to time their trip to coincide with the Russian Art Festival in Cannes.

Taking place between August 23rd and 27th at the Palais des Festivals, the event will explore Russian art through a host of exhibitions, performances and showings aimed at a wide range of audiences.

There will be free activities on offer outside the venue, while exhibitions vary from Window On Russia, which showcases work by young artists, to photography displays by Yuri Molodkovets and Daria Dostal.

Other highlights include a performance by the Military Song and Dance Band of St Petersburg, an event exploring Russian cuisine and showings of Russian films.

Visitors can stay in one of a number of villas in and around Cannes for the festival, as well as in other areas of the Cote d'Azur such as Grasse, Frejus, Vence and St Tropez.

Other attractions in Cannes include its beach, numerous gardens and the opportunity to ascend Mont Chevalier for a beautiful view of the area.
