Take a tour of Nice on a Cote d'Azur holiday

Those heading off on Cote d'Azur villa holidays may already be planning a visit to the city of Nice during their trip.

According to an article in the South Wales Echo, guided tours of the old town are available for tourists and will show visitors all of the top sights.

It states that the main attraction in Nice is the Promenade des Anglais, which runs along the Mediterranean Sea and is where the tours start.

Those who prefer to carry out their own explorations should walk up to Castle Hill, where they will be rewarded with an amazing view of the city, the publication recommends.

"Nestled into the hills rising up from the shore are outdoor markets, al fresco restaurants, parks and dozens of museums," it adds.

Nice also has a lot to offer for food lovers, with restaurants catering to those on a budget as well as those looking to splash out on some of France's top cuisine.

Daily markets take place in Nice where holiday makers can find some excellent bargains on jewellery, precious stones and crystals, as well as picking up some freshly baked cakes and delicious breads to take back to their Cote d'Azur villa.

La Gaude is just 25 minutes from Nice so could be a great place to stay. It is also close to the town of Vence.
