South of France ski resorts 'receive much needed snow'

People who were worried that there would be no whiteout while visiting a ski resort in the south of France have had their fears put at ease.

Many popular resorts across the Alps have been covered in a blanket of snow, having been filled with scenes of green just days earlier.

In Val d'Isere alone, snow dumps of up to 20 centimetres have been reported as falling recently, while Tignes, Courchevel and Val Thorens have also had large deposits of the white stuff.

Further wintry showers in the days ahead are set to bring between ten and 40cm worth of snow to many of the popular French resorts.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Vicky Norman, of the Ski Club of Great Britain, pointed out: "Resort villages have been transformed from green to white overnight and the forecast implies more snow is on the way."

Recently, Directski.com acknowledged that Val d'Isere is an ideal resort for "ski divas" seeking out ski holidays in the south of France villas, as the venue houses world-class attractions and a series of off-piste challenges.
