South of France holidays 'offer diverse experiences'
Holiday makers planning to book villas in the south of France and other parts of the country can enjoy a wide range of activities and experiences in the country, according to an industry representative.
A spokesman for tourism development agency Atout France said that the country's diversity is one of the main reasons it is so appealing to travellers.
He pointed out that visitors can access everything from ski resorts to seaside towns and choose from experiences such as wine tours and spa breaks.
The spokesman also revealed that there are positive signs regarding the popularity of south of France holidays and other breaks in the country over the coming year.
"So far there has been a very positive feedback from tourism professionals in regard to bookings for 2010, although the recent tendency has been in favour of last-minute bookings," he said.
It was recently reported that France welcomed some 74.2 million tourists in 2009, meaning it retained its status as the world's most visited country.
