Soak up Latin American culture on a Biarritz villa holiday

Britons heading to the south of France later this year might want to check out the Biarritz Festival.

The event will run from September 27th to October 3rd and celebrates a variety of aspects of Latin American culture.

Visitors on a Biarritz villa holiday can expect to take in a host of exhibitions and side events with a Latin American theme, with film always a major focus of the 19-year-old festival.

Movie fans will be able to enjoy showings of a wide variety of feature films, documentaries and short films, many of which will be competing for top prizes.

Work by both established and up-and-coming filmmakers will be showcased, as well as retrospectives on a particular theme.

Lectures and photography exhibitions all add to the attractions of the Biarritz Festival.

The main venues for the festival include the Cinema le Royal, the Salle Atalaya at La Gare du Midi and the Casino Municipal.

Napoleon III, Edward VII and Queen Victoria are among the most famous visitors to have graced the streets of Biarritz.
