Skiing is an "amazing" option for those on holiday in south of France

There are now "amazing deals" available that will allow people taking a holiday in the south of France this winter to go skiing.

A spokesman for ATOUT FRANCE says people with "virtually any budget" will find hitting the slopes is a realistic prospect over the next few months.

"With its high mountains and an excellent snow cover, France has always benefited from its natural characteristics," the expert notes.

"[Also], the French ski resorts are easily accessible by train," he remarks, showing there are different ways to reach a holiday in the south of France.

Some people may wish to stay in a luxury villa in the region and take a day trip or two to the nearby French Alps, home to some of Europe's finest pistes and most reliable snowfall.

According to recent figures by the Ski Club of Great Britain, the UK skiing market totals more than a million people.
