Skiing day trip from south of France villa may be option for tourists

People staying in villas in the south of France over the coming months may like to take a short trip to one of the nearby skiing ranges, such as the resort of Val d'Isere.

The destination's tourism board says there are a number of new highlights to mark in the diary for the new season.

These include a brand new piste called Petit Bois, as well as new challenges at the Snowpark, such as a one-kilometre fun run down the slopes.

Alternatively, tourists may wish to time their arrival in order to spectate rather than participate, with the Alpine World Cup events set for December 11th, 12, 17th, 18th and 19th.

There is plenty of entertainment for all the family on offer at Val d'Isere and some may consider it to be a great place to spend a day or two away from a villa in the south of France.

The Ski Club of Great Britain recently told winter sports enthusiasts they will find they enjoy good value for money in snowy spots across Europe this summer, as the pound has strengthened against the euro since last winter.
