Ski season set to get underway for those on holiday in south of France
People who take a holiday in the south of France over the next five months now have the option of taking in a spot of skiing during their stay.
Atout France, the country's official tourist body, has advised the ski season will begin on Saturday (November 27th).
That is because the Les 2 Alpes region opens its doors for the first time, with 15cm of snow already recorded at the base of the mountain and up to 125cm above.
There are also a range of events lined up for December and January that could make a trip there a little extra special.
For example, the 23rd of next month sees the Full Moon Evening take place, where skiers will navigate the pistes only by moonlight.
Such activities could provide a day of amusement for those staying in villas in the south of France, while keener winter sportsmen may wish to book accommodation nearby.
Clare Mann, writing for the Daily Telegraph, recently said skiing in the area can be picturesque and great fun.
