See the Antibes regatta on a Provence villa holiday

Holiday makers staying in Provence villas this year might be interested in paying a visit to the resort town of Antibes to see a popular sailing event.

The Voiles d'Antibes yacht regatta is set to return to the glamorous destination on the Cote d'Azur from June 2nd to 6th.

According to whatsonwhen.com - the worldwide events website run by travel guide publisher Frommer's - the meeting serves as the grand opening for the annual Mediterranean regatta season.

All sorts of events and festivities are arranged, including cocktail parties, live music performances and barbecues, which will ensure that people on south of France villa holidays will enjoy a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Visitors will also be able to choose a spot along the seafront to watch the yachts as they take to the waves for the regatta.

Holiday makers staying in Cote d'Azur villas will find Antibes between Cannes and Nice in the Alpes-Maritimes department in south-east France.

Guests can explore the town and visit attractions such as the Picasso Museum and the Fort Carre.
