See some stunning fireworks on a south of France villa holiday

People planning south of France villa holidays this year might be interested in arranging a trip to Cannes to see some spectacular pyrotechnic displays.

The city will host its annual Fireworks Festival from July 14th to August 24th, with a total of six shows scheduled.

Pyrotechnic display teams from all over Europe will visit Provence to take part in the event and compete for the top prize.

Holiday makers staying in south of France villas will be able to gather around the bay at 22:00 local time on July 14th to see the festival get underway with a presentation by Pyrovision of Austria.

The fireworks will be set off while music by artists ranging from Ennio Morricone to Neil Young is played to the crowd.

Czech team Flash Barrandov will then attempt to wow spectators on July 21st, followed by Prestatech of France on July 29th and German outfit Weco on August 7th.

The final two shows will take place on August 15th and 24th.

People who attend the events during a Provence villa holiday will also be treated to some free music on Esplanade Georges Pompidou after the displays.
