A South of France villa holiday offers holiday makers the chance to get away from the stress of everyday life and find the true meaning of escape.
Writing for the Sydney Morning Herald, Dixie Wills tells of her time in rural Provence, where the sense of "being in an entirely separate place and time was so complete that had we been told the world outside was a dream we'd just woken from, we wouldn't have been all that surprised".
Hiking up mountains, visiting traditional villages that appeared untouched by time, and eating local specialties made for an unforgettable trip, she claimed.
The concept of "getting away from it all" was truly achieved, considering there are "few places where that is possible in practice," she adds.
The Provence region is renowned for its natural beauty, with small historic towns taking people back in time.
The abundance of vineyards produce world-famous wine, and no trip to the region would be complete without sampling the local specialty.
