Rent a Languedoc villa holiday and enjoy perfect beaches

Those taking a south of France villa holiday in Languedoc will have first-class access to some of the country's most exquisite beaches.

According to the Telegraph, the region, which stretches along the Mediterranean coast from the Rhone delta to Spain, may not be as well known as the Cote d'Azur but it provides the perfect beach-side vacations for families.

Among the resorts in Languedoc, the newspaper recommended a trip to Agde, which contains a famous black-stone cathedral and a variety of beaches to suit different tastes.

Meanwhile, Roussillon, or French Catalonia as it is also known, boasts hilly coastlines that feature strutting cliffs and hidden coves.

"This, the Cote Vermeille, is the region's prettiest stretch - and older resorts like Collioure and Banyuls know it," the Telegraph wrote.

As well as its excellent beaches, Languedoc is the world's largest single wine-producing area and offers a change of scenery to the nearby tourist resorts of St Tropez and Cannes.
