Rent Provence villas to enjoy a 'classic trip'

People planning to rent Provence villas for a south of France holiday this year might be interested in following the advice of Conde Nast Traveller to enjoy a "classic trip" in the region.

The magazine pointed out that the quiet roads and picturesque towns located away from the coast in southern France are well worth exploring.

One destination that travellers can visit while staying in Provence villas is Avignon, which is home to some "first-class sights", according to Conde Nast Traveller.

Holiday makers can look out for the town's famous bridge, as well as the tower and fortifications of the Palais des Papes, a 12th century cathedral and the Petit Palais art gallery.

Those who visit Arles during a south of France villa break can take a journey back in time at the town's Roman ruins and see attractions such as the St Trophime church on Place de la Republique.

Conde Nast Traveller also recommended a visit to Aix en Provence, which is home to dozens of fountains and shady gardens that make it "the coolest place in the south of France".
