Rent Languedoc villas to see the Perpignan Marathon

Holiday makers staying in Languedoc villas this year might be interested in paying a visit to Perpignan to see a major sporting event in the city.

The 2010 Perpignan Marathon is set to attract hundreds of runners and spectators to the destination in southern France on May 23rd.

Held annually since 2006, the marathon brings together nearly 900 competitors every year.

People planning to see the event during south of France villa holidays will be able to gather in a number of locations in Perpignan to cheer on the runners, including Place de la Resistance and Boulevard Georges Clemenceau.

Spectators can see the participants cross the finish line near Perpignan's Palais des Congres.

Several other events will be taking place in the city this year, including the Night of the Museums on May 15th and the Festa Major from June 20th to 27th.

As well as experiencing Perpignan's sporting and cultural traditions, people staying in Languedoc villas can visit the city to see sights such as the cathedral of St Jean, which dates back to the 14th century.
