Rent Languedoc villas for the Carcassonne Festival

People planning to rent Languedoc villas for a south of France holiday this year might be interested in some of the events due to take place during the 2010 Carcassonne Festival.

This event is one of France's largest festivals, with nearly 110 concerts and performances taking place every year.

Many of the shows that are presented at different venues in the fortified town are free.

Highlights of this year's programme will include a performance by the legendary Bob Dylan at the Theatre Jean Deschamps on June 28th.

Holiday makers staying in Languedoc villas might be interested in visiting the same venue on July 3rd to see a production of Georges Bizet's timeless opera Carmen.

Other well-known artists set to perform at the Carcassonne Festival this summer include Jamiroquai and Mika, who will play the Theatre Jean Deschamps on July 19th and 21st respectively.

There will also be some theatre productions to see in the south of France, with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and Twelfth Night both set to be performed in Carcassonne.
