Grab yourself a late deal >Perfect conditions in place for winter holidays in south of France
Those fancying a holiday in the south of France may find now is the perfect time as its ski resorts are offering "excellent snow conditions" at present.
Atout France noted resorts in the Alps, Pyrenees and Vosges regions are open and providing plenty of skiing, with snow of between 80 and 200 cm making conditions suitable for wintersports both on and off-piste.
It also stated there are over 100 operators offering trips to a range of destinations, with something to suit every budget.
The combination of good skiing and a wide range of providers have helped to ensure wintersports in France are very popular with Britons, the firm commented.
Daily Telegraph writer Clare Mann said the Val D'Isere resort has been a particularly popular one with UK visitors since the invention of chalet parties in the 1970s.
She noted it has 300 km of pistes and 99 lifts, enabling it to cope with large crowds heading for the slopes.
