Older travellers may find all they require in holiday in south of France

The advantages of taking a holiday in the south of France may combine to make it the ultimate destination for older travellers.

According to a report by the Daily Telegraph on top retirement destinations, the region is the best of all.

Indeed, perhaps the only barrier to overcome is the language, but once that is cleared there is plenty to enjoy in the south of France.

For example, the area has a warm climate that can be relied upon for large portions of the year, arguably making it a 12-month holiday spot.

It is also easily accessible from the UK and offers a number of charming resorts and locations, such as the Cote d'Azur, the newspaper notes.

The south of France is known for its "wonderfully lazy" lifestyle, which may be ideal for those looking to take it a bit easier.

Many people may be preparing to visit the region this winter for another of its great attractions – skiing, with the resort of Val d'Isere this week revealing it has made a number of improvements ahead of the new season.
