Nice 'is the perfect place to take a holiday in south of France'
The city of Nice has been praised by one expert, who believes now is the ideal time to take a holiday in the south of France in order to visit it.
Anthony Peregrine, writing a piece for the Daily Telegraph, explains there should be no contest between staying at home in the UK and seeing what the historic city has to offer.
He identifies the "sparkling Mediterranean" as one of the key reasons behind a trip at this time of year, as enjoying local cuisine and washing it down with a fine wine by the sea is said to be perfect.
There is also the city's carnival to look forward to, with the event due to kick off on February 18th and running until March 8th.
"During the carnival, the town's Latin exuberance bubbles over in a cacophony of vast floats, street performers, the silliest possible giant figures and flower-chucking pretty girls," writes Mr Peregrine.
The newspaper recently named the carnival as one of its top ten reasons to travel in February.
