There is plenty going on around south of France villas in the new year which should suit everybody who is seeking a holiday in the country next year.
For one, people heading on a retreat to Cannes in January should mark their diaries for the MIDEM Music Festival.
Coming to the city throughout the month, the event combines a professional trade fair with a host of concerts and the glamour of the NRJ Music Awards.
The occasion stands out for bringing together a variety of up-and-coming talents with musicians who have already made their mark in the industry.
Car lovers should also ensure that they have time to visit the Avignon Motor Festival, which comes to the south of France in March.
Around 900 vehicles will be on display for motoring fans to view, as well as 250 exhibitors and 75 prestigious car clubs.
All of the attractions of the festival can be seen by taking a trip to Avignon's Parc des Expositions venue from March 23rd until 25th.
