Motoring holiday in south of France 'offers stunning scenery
One tourist has advised others to pack their bags and head for a holiday in the south of France by car, as it offers the opportunity to visit some of the region's most beautiful spots.
Christopher Thompson, writing a letter to the Daily Telegraph, explains he did just that and took in some spectacular sights on the way.
One of the stops the traveller recommends is in the town of Cassis, where he urges people to take a boat trip to the nearby calanques, which he describes as "superb scenery".
Mr Thompson also notes it is in the resort that he enjoyed "perhaps the best meal I have ever eaten".
Among the other locations he notes as being particularly worth a trip to are Rochegude – "the heart of serious wine country" – and Gigondas, where local markets with "lovely" produce are available.
David Williams, writing for the Daily Mail, recently warned people to adhere to local rules and regulations when driving in the south of France.
