Montpellier 'offers affordability on south of France holiday'
Britons planning a stay in a villa in the south of France may be wise to include some time in Montpellier during their stay.
That is because the city offers affordability to people with typical holidays expenses, suggests Guillame Chauvin, a spokesman for Atout France.
And tourists can expect a vibrant and youthful experience for their money, with half of the destination's population younger than 35.
Commenting on the highlights of Montpellier, Mr Chauvin says: "The old town has lots of amazing and puzzling secrets that one should definitely try to discover with a local guide."
He also explains Montpellier has everything people expect of a large city, such as cinemas and shopping complexes, but has managed to maintain its "art de vivre" too.
It has recently become easier for holiday makers heading to villas in the south of France to book their travel arrangements, as bmibaby has announced a new route between Manchester and Montpellier.
