Low-cost ski hire available to those on holiday in the south of France

People who wish to take a day or two out from their holiday in the south of France over the coming weeks to go skiing can do so at a noticeably low cost.

Ski equipment hire company Ski Republic has launched a series of bargain deals, starting from €10 (£8.52) for a day of using top-quality gear.

The firm's boots, skis, poles and helmets include those produced by leading manufacturers such as Fischer, Salomon, Roxy, Blizzard, Head and Dynastar.

Its equipment is available at 34 outlets across 26 resorts in the region, which is one of Europe's premier skiing spots and could be popular with those on holiday in the south of France.

"Ski Republic has changed the face of ski equipment hire and challenged the ski hire companies who were too often renting out old equipment with a lack of service and inferior brands," says the company's chief executive officer and founder Lionel Favre.

Cheapflights.co.uk's travel expert Nadine Hallak recently named Swiss Air, Austrian Airlines and Germanwings as the most ski-friendly airlines.
