Languedoc holidays 'action packed'

Languedoc villa holidays do not have to be about all about relaxation, as there is plenty for active types to do in the region.

In an article for the Reading Post, travel journalist Leigh Mencarini said Languedoc is great for walking and cycling.

During her time in this beautiful part of the South of France, she went mountain biking through woodland areas, where she enjoyed some stunning views.

She said she found Languedoc "full of unexpected treasures" which she was able to come across by getting out and about.

"It's the variety of its landscape that makes it a favourite for the more explorative tourist, as its Mediterranean coastline means there is a different kind of natural world to discover," she remarked.

Indeed, after hiking or cycling in the countryside, holiday makers can don their bathing suits and enjoy a refreshing dip in the sea.

Those hoping to experience the beauty of the inland areas and chill out on the beach during their Languedoc holiday could rent villas in Caux.

This small village is set away from the coast in the countryside, but is just a 40-minute drive from several golden sandy beaches.
