Insurance "critical" for those holidaying in south of France

People planning a winter sports holiday in the south of France over the coming weeks have been reminded of the importance of an effective insurance policy.

Asia Yasir, spokeswoman for esure, explains it is vital to get adequate cover before hitting the slopes.

"It doesn't matter whether you’re a novice or perfectly at home on the black runs, accidents do happen on the slopes and it's crucial to make sure you're fully covered with quality insurance," she states.

And prior to picking up a pair of skis, individuals should check exactly what they are protected against, she goes on to suggest.

Winter sports can be particularly popular with those on holiday in the south of France at this time of year.

Recent research by Sainsbury's Finance showed the most common claim among those who take vacations in snowy spots is for knee injuries, which account for some 37 per cent of all related cases.
