Holiday alone in south of France for great social scene
One of the benefits of taking a holiday in the south of France on your own is the chance to meet new people, if one expert is to be believed.
Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, says a solo trip has the potential to be a great experience.
"When you travel alone, you don't really travel alone, unless you are going to a really remote place. You meet more people [and] you make more friends," he explains.
Mr Hall goes on to note it is now more socially acceptable than ever before to travel alone, with recent research by LV= suggesting more than two million Britons will do just this in the next three months.
And a holiday in the south of France could be just right for those looking to meet new acquaintances, with the region's glamorous social scene renowned across the world.
Indeed, a villa in the area may even provide the perfect setting to entertain new friends and companions.
