Go on a south of France holiday for a culinary treat
Foodies looking to book a getaway may want to consider a south of France holiday.
Writing for the Edmonton Sun, Graham Hicks highlights the food in this part of the world as a highlight of his holiday there.
He notes that the French pride themselves on their high-quality cuisine and praises the area's restaurants and farmer's markets in particular.
"Everything is so much fresher, so much better presented. I don't know where this seemingly unending quality of chefs come from," Mr Hicks says, adding that there is plenty to choose from, whether it is the wide range of cheeses or the specialist meats exclusive to this part of France.
Villas in the south of France can be found in areas such as Biarritz, Languedoc and Provence, offering an alternative to traditional hotels for holidays in the region.
The Connexion recently reported figures from Protourisme suggesting that breaks to Languedoc are set to become more popular this summer compared with last year.
