Go green by taking train to south of France holiday
Tourists who make an effort to keep an eye on their carbon footprint may find a holiday in the south of France is the perfect break for them this winter.
That is because a range of train offers have been launched, providing those travelling to the region with affordable and eco-friendly transport.
Some 16 organisations have joined forces to retail the deals, which were put together by the co-founders of ski website snowcarbon.co.uk.
People who would like to go skiing are given free transfers to their chosen resort, while others can simply make their own way to a villa or other accommodation.
Going on holiday in the south of France by rail may also be the most-relaxing option for tourists, as it avoids the stress of airports and the time lost to driving.
The town of Morzine in the French Alps was recently named as a sustainability capital, with 30 of its buildings going green ahead of the winter season.
