Get into photography on a Languedoc villa holiday

Photography enthusiasts might be interested in renting Languedoc villas and paying a visit to Perpignan this year.

The city will play host to Visa pour l'Image, one of the world's leading festivals of international photojournalism, from August 28th to September 12th.

People taking south of France villa holidays can visit Perpignan to see a series of exhibitions showcasing some of the best work by professional photographers from around the world.

Highlights will include a retrospective dedicated to William Albert Allard, who has worked for National Geographic for the past five decades, and a showcase of William Klein's collections of images of New York, Rome, Moscow and Tokyo.

Venues participating in Visa pour l'Image this year include the Place de la Republique, Palais des Congres and Arsenal des Carmes.

Holiday makers staying in Languedoc villas will also be able to visit the open-air medieval enclosure of Campo Santo, which will present a series of evening screenings during the festival.

Perpignan is located in the Pyrenees-Orientales department in Languedoc-Roussillon and is home to landmarks such as the cathedral of St John the Baptist.
