Brits seeking out a getaway abroad to get into the festive spirit may want to book up villas in the south of France.
The city of Marseille is preparing to get into the Christmas mood from November, with sights reminiscent of a fairytale winter wonderland.
To usher in the season, the French resort will be decorated with a wide array of Xmas illuminations, while Father Christmas is to visit the city in a trip sure to excite youngsters.
A host of child-friendly shows are also taking place in Marseille throughout November and December, as well as a series of live music performances.
Families staying in south of France villas will not want to miss the Marseille Nativity Fair either, which comes to the Allees de Meilhan venue in the lead-up to Christmas morning.
The attraction is the ideal place to be to purchase some santons, a series of hand-painted clay figures which are typically used in this part of France to display nativity scenes.
