Free online guides could boost south of France villa holidays

People planning a south of France villa holiday this summer might be interested in looking at some new articles that are being published by a travel website.

Simonseeks announced that it was putting together a series of free, 'real-time' guides to address the fact that content in traditional guidebooks has "an almost instant sell-by date".

The series has been launched with a selection of pieces covering destinations including Nice, Cannes, St Tropez and Marseille, all of which could interest people planning to book Cote d'Azur villas for a South of France holiday this year.

Various topics are covered in the guides, from local restaurants and bars to how to save money.

Simon Nixon, founder of Simonseeks, said: "We thought it was time to challenge the role of traditional guidebooks. I believe the very nature of the internet and social media should allow holidaymakers access to up-to-date and relevant travel information.

"There is nothing more disheartening than reading travel tips and then realising it was written two years ago. Our 'expert' concept offers the answer to this problem and combines authority with peer reviews."

Features including an events preview are set to be added to the guides in the near future.
