Expert: There is more to south of France winter holidays than skiing
People planning a holiday in the south of France over the winter months should not be put off by the belief that snow sports dominate the region at this time of year.
Geraldine Cousin, communication manager at the Les Menuires/Saint Martin Tourist Office, says there is far more to the area than skiing and snowboarding.
She notes those visiting chilly spots within the French Alps can enjoy activities such as tobogganing.
"[At] 4km-long and [with] 22 bends winding their way down a total vertical fall of 450m, this run offers, with helmets, a thrill in the heart of Les Menuires," states Ms Cousin.
And people who want to go without such high excitement can relax by slipping on a pair of snow shoes and heading out for a walk.
Currencies.co.uk recently suggested ski slopes in France are more expensive to Britons than in previous years due to a decline in the pound, perhaps making it an ideal day trip for those heading to the Mediterranean coast for a longer break.
