Discover the work of Jaume Plensa on a south of France villa holiday

People with a passion for modern art might be interested in paying a visit to Antibes during a south of France villa holiday this year.

The town's Picasso Museum is currently hosting a display celebrating the work of contemporary artist and sculptor Jaume Plensa, which will run until October 17th.

Born in Barcelona in 1955, Plensa rose to prominence at the beginning of the 1980s, when he was best-known for his large, cast-iron sculptures.

Over the years his work developed and incorporated new aspects of light, sound and language, leading to major exhibitions in cities all over the world and commissions in North America, Japan and other locations.

People taking south of France villa holidays this year can visit the Picasso Museum in Antibes to see a number of works that highlight the lesser-known areas of Plensa's work from the past decade.

The exhibition brings together around 90 works on paper, including large-scale drawings that showcase a range of creative techniques.

Antibes is located on the picturesque Cote d'Azur between the cities of Cannes and Nice.
