Demand to increase for South of France holidays
South of France villa holidays could become more popular as more people return to the international tourism market, it has been claimed.
According to website simonseeks.com, holidays in the South of France will be among the most popular in 2010.
The website suggested that British tourists will flock to countries such as France and Spain, following a subdued year for travelling in 2009 during which many people holidayed domestically.
A survey of 3,000 travellers indicated that 56 per cent intend to holiday abroad in 2010, with the European countries proving to be some of the top choices.
"Staycation was the buzz word of 2009 but it seems that 2010 will be more about a compromise culture, with people giving up short-term benefits to ensure they can afford that holiday abroad," said a representative of the site.
Recently, it was suggested by the Irish Times that people holidaying in a South of France villa on the Cote d'Azur visit the Palais Lascaris, which is situated in the historic town of Nice.
