Celebrate wine on a south of France villa holiday

Wine lovers planning south of France villa holidays this year will have the opportunity to visit a festival in one of the region's biggest cities.

The Bordeaux Wine Festival will take place in various locations and venues within the city and the Aquitaine region from June 24th to 27th.

According to its organisers, the event is ideal for "lovers of wine, food, celebration and culture".

Holiday makers staying in south of France villas can arrange trips to Bordeaux to taste some of the region's most popular wines or take a tour offering an insight into the city's architectural heritage.

One of the highlights of the programme this year will be a section dedicated to the Canadian city of Quebec, with a series of special events and shows being prepared.

Visitors will also be able to book vineyard passes that cover trips to a number of appellations and wine chateaux, with coach transport, an English-speaking tour guide, tasting sessions and lunch all included.

Biarritz villas provide the ideal base from which to explore the Aquitaine region of southern France, which is one of Europe's most famous and prolific wine-producing regions.
