Book a south of France holiday for culture and activity

Booking a south of France villa holiday could be one way to enjoy plenty of culture, learning and activity.

A travel expert has suggested that a new holiday culture is emerging in which people are demanding more fulfilment from their trips abroad.

Sharron Livingston, editor of thetravelmagazine.net, suggested that more and more holiday makers are looking for something "a little different".

"Culture, adventure, activity and learning holidays offer time-out with a feeling of having done something worthwhile," she explained.

"Plus these experiences are great for after-dinner conversation."

Her comments came following the publication of research from Euromonitor International, which indicated that spa and wellness activities are also becoming more popular among people holidaying abroad.

This all suggests that travellers are now looking for more value-for-money and fulfilment from their holidays.

There is plenty to enjoy in the south of France, including amazing scenic landscapes, fantastic foods, delicious wines and some of the world's most famous cultural sites.

Languedoc, for example, is home to the world's largest wine-producing area and boasts countless examples of exquisite rustic architecture, as well as miles of sandy beaches and easy access to the glitzy resorts of St Tropez and Cannes.
