Book a South of France villa holiday and mix it up in St Tropez

Those hoping to mix it up and enjoy a healthy dose of sun, sea and sand as well as a good dollop of history should head to St Tropez for a day during their South of France villa holiday on the Cote d'Azur.

According to travelbite.co.uk, this hot destination has been popular among the rich and famous for years thanks to its abundance of things to see and do.

Visitors can relax on its beautiful beaches, take a hike around the coastline for some spectacular views or soak up the culture in its museums and galleries.

Summer is the time when most people visit St Tropez, as the weather is hot and the parties are in full swing.

Travelbite.co.uk points out that two of the most popular beaches in the resort are Pampelonne with its trendy cafes and Tahiti, where holiday makers could spot a celebrity or two.

Those who would rather explore that lay on the sand can take in the 17th century chapel in the old town and the 16th century citadelle which is home to the naval museum.

Of course shopaholics will not be disappointed in St Tropez, as there are numerous stores and boutiques, as well as a lively Saturday market.

Those renting Cote d'Azur villas in Frejus will be able to travel o St Tropez easily, as it is just a short drive along the coast.

Frejus also boasts many of its own attractions, including the ruins of a Roman amphitheatre.
