Book a South of France holiday and enjoy a slower pace of life

The South of France is a popular destination among holiday makers as it offers a relaxed pace of life as well as good food and wine.

According to Eleanor O'Kane, editor of Living France, the entire country sets itself apart from many others thanks to its great lifestyle.

She said French food and drink is internationally renowned, with different regions having their own local specialities.

For example, those renting South of France villas in Languedoc can enjoy dishes based on garlic and olive oil, with typical meals including a beef stew known as Ollada and Cassoulet made with haricot beans, sausage and goose.

"Being a much more rural country than the UK, the pace of life is slower, community life revolves around the village, people are friendly and children are welcomed into restaurants," Ms O'Kane added.

She said that since France has a varied landscape, tourists can always find activities to suit them, from walking to wine tasting and relaxing on the beach.

Furthermore, travelling within the country is easy as it has a good rail system, so families can visit a number of different towns and cities during their South of France villa holiday.
