Book a Languedoc holiday and visit the Bambouseraie

Families planning a South of France villa holiday in the Languedoc region could spend a day getting close to nature at the Bambouseraie near Nimes.

This exotic park is home to numerous plants and flowers displayed in unique settings that are a joy to explore.

Visitors enter though a large area where potted plants such as bamboo, palm trees and flowering plants are sold.

From there, they enter into the main park, which is described as a living sanctuary devoted to nature.

The bamboo plants are the main attraction at the park and various different species are grown and cultivated within the grounds.

Holiday makers can also learn how to plant and care for their own bamboo.

In 2005 the Bambouseraie celebrated its 150th anniversary and last year it was registered as a historical monument.

Those renting Languedoc villas in Caux can hire a car and drive to the attraction.

This small village is set within the beautiful Languedoc countryside and offers some wonderful scenery for walkers and cyclists.

It is also just a short drive from the town of Pezanas with its ancient buildings.
