Book Provence villas to sample some local wine

Wine lovers staying in Provence villas this summer will have the opportunity to try some of the region's finest produce at a popular annual event.

The Saint-Remy de Provence Wine Festival will take place on the weekend of July 23rd to 25th.

More than 30 producers from different parts of France will take part in the event, showcasing some of their finest creations.

Holiday makers staying in Provence villas can visit Saint-Remy to attend a number of free tasting sessions and enjoy the live music, parades and other entertainment that will take place over the course of the weekend.

The festival will be celebrating its 28th edition this summer, having been held on the last weekend in July every year since 1982.

Saint-Remy de Provence is located in the Bouches-du-Rhone area, about 20km south of Avignon and north of the Alpilles mountain range.

People who visit Bouches-du-Rhone during a south of France villa holiday can also head to the city of Arles to see its ancient Roman monuments or explore local villages such as Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.
