Are Biarritz villas a surfer's dream?

Biarritz villas could soon be high in demand among surfers after the French destination was recommended to those who love to hit the waves.

Kate Auletta, writing for the Huffington Post, suggests the seaside town on the country's Atlantic coast is probably the place she would choose to learn to surf.

And that is more than a distinct possibility, with the author revealing she is currently "obsessed with the idea" of doing so.

It is not only surfing that a stay in a Biarritz villa is ideal for though, with Ms Auletta noting the resort is perfectly located to explore the Pyrenees mountains and the rest of the Basque region, stretching into Spain.

Some visitors could even venture further afield and travel to other destinations in the south of France, such as Provence and Cote d'Azur.

The Biarritz Festival is due to run between September 27th and October 3rd, which includes a host of activities with a Latin American theme.
